Sweet Peppers, or bell peppers, are low in calories (35 per large pepper) and are a great source of vitamins A and C. In fact, green peppers pack twice as much vitamin C as oranges, while the reads and yellows have nearly four times as much. Peppers also contain vitamin B6 (essential for keeping the immune system in working order) and folic acid, which helps prevent neutral tube defects in a developing fetus and seems to protect against cardiovascular disease in adults.
